Re: SNO - Sunday 1st November 2009 : Operation Wellington

I would no longer have an " other half " if i completed 29 sectors for World Flight ( as much as I would love to ) :D :D :D On a serious note , I shall be joining the squadron at Perth in around 3 and a half hours for the leg to Learmonth ... god knows how ATC will fit all the a/c into such a small ...

Re: SNO - Sunday 18th October 2009: Norfolk Island and Auckland

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed , but on the outbound flight from NZAA ( Using Active Sky Advanced weather ) , the winds at FL380 were at one stage around 260/290 @ 144 kts ...

Would have been almost flying on a concorde for the return flights LOL

V-Route Question

Does anyone know why when for instance you log/file a flightplan for say NZAA to NZCH it always defaults the Alternate as either Whenuapai , Auckland or Hamilton ??? I would have though the suitable ALT's would be either NZWN or NZDN ... Only asking as V-Route has a nifty fuel calculation on it whic...

Re: SNO - Sunday 2nd August 2009 - Nelson, New Plymouth & Napier

Thanks for a good night folks , had a system issue once parked at NS so didn't even have time to thank Mark LOL Certainly a bit different behind the controls of a B1900 as opposed to a B767 or B738 !!! Have fun next Sunday night - i will be in Sydney @ that time recovering from running the annual Ci...

Re: SNO - Sunday 19th July 2009: All Blacks in Auckland

Guys , Thanks again for the effort in organising last night .. seemed like a lot of traffic so hopefully enjoyment had by all . I had only 1 major    gripe and that was when on finals into 23L at NZAA , I was getting TCAS issues left right and centre when established on finals ( ev...

Re: SNO - Sunday 5th July 2009 - Queenstown Winterfestival

It fascinates me as to how some try and land A380's and MD11's into QN ...
The captians on both over the past 2 weeks must have been related to Evil Kenevil LOL

That right base turn for finals for the DME/VOR Alpha 05 approach is certianly one tricky little turn

Re: SNO: 14th June 2009 - Ski Season Sensation

Guys , Had heaps of fun last night . MR had me in a "few" holds just north of Slope Hill , but the pax were happy as they managed to watch Alien and Aliens to pass the time   Strange with the wx issues at QN as when I printed off my V-Route Flight Plan , the Metar for NZQN stated nothing a...

Re: SNO - Sun 29 March 2009 - Supporting VATPAC Rolling Thunder

You just know whenever the Aussies put on an online event it is going to rock ... and indeed it did !!! Managed to complete ( with the odd server disconnect ) a SY-ML-SY Return Milk Run , wheels down back in SY around 2320 NZT . Sounds as though , as usual , scanno had his hands completely full but ...

Re: SNO - Sunday March 15 - Auckland

As per Mark's earlier email , there was definetely server issues ... ie I could see some a'c on the ground at AA whilst holding at A10 , but couldn't see an a/c on short finals ... :? I am trying to remember the last time I/we had coverage from departure at WN till on the ground at AA ie NZCH-W , NZ...

Re: SNO - 30th November 2008 - The Main Trunk

Thanks Guys for the solid amount of ATC last night ... Myself and Brian ( and possibly Glenn ) had the Pacific Blue tails flying up and down the Island like a Yo Yo ( we were both at WN for departure at 1800 , then again at around at 2030 ) , although I managed to only complete 2 out of my originall...

Re: VATNZ loses one of its members

Mark , I can still remember many many many years ago the Sunday nights (that indeed as you have previously mentioned ) that consisted of just yourself , Brett and a select few occupying the virtual skies and scopes of NZ ... Brett was indeed a great "farmer" as such for Flight Sim in NZ as it was at...
