How to Correctly File an IFR Flight Plan in New Zealand NZZC

G'day pilots, a short article on how to correctly file an IFR flight plan within NZZC (New Zealand Domestic) airspace. I've mainly decided to make this post for controller's ease, but also to show how they're filed in the real world. First of all, let me explain standard route clearances. An SRC is ...

Only changes are the definitions of radar coverage (broken in the Southland/Fiordland area) and I have also updated the classifications of airports in the sct2 file. As the AIP only releases the changes bulletin on an eight we...

Radar Releases + SOP

G’day everyone, Is just like to remind you all that you must request a radar release from the appropriate radar controller when you are staffing a tower position. The only exception to this rule is if you are controlling at NZAA, NZCH or NZWN. This rule has been slipping (actually completely forgott...

NZZC AIRAC 1706b Effective 25MAY17 Available - NEW!!!

Hello guys, After taking over the operations role, I forgot to include the 1705 updates (there were a lot) so they are included now. The new sector file is called '1706b'. As always, it is available from the downloads page. http://www.vatnz.net/controllers/downloads/ Happy controlling and I'll see y...

Controller Client Use

G'day everyone, just want to see how many people is VRC vs. EuroScope or even both. Even though you're taught to use EuroScope through training, some people migrate to VRC or some people were even taught to use VRC through their training.

Let me know in the poll!
