A great initiative Duncan and lots of really valuable information in the post. Not sure how often I will be able to join in given my crazy work hours but fingers crossed I will be there one day!

I managed to just get my airbus in at 9:55. Airport closes at 10pm from what I can tell.

Hi Duncan,

You are correct, currently aircraft can only operate from Queenstown Airport during
daylight hours.

This time of the year daylight runs from approx. 5:40am to 10:10pm but in winter this
reduces to approx. 7:50am to 5:45pm.

Cheers, Chris

:D Another great flight tonight, thank you all for being there.....and I set my sim to the middle of the day too so that I wouldn't fall foul of the CAA  , I should have read this post earlier
While I'm at it, congratulations to Damien and Duncan on your new appointments, a fine choice I'm thinking :D
cheers,
Dick

Thanks all again, dinner was a bit late so thanks for waiting for me NZWN_TWR :)

My airbus wasn't playing ball and I couldn't get the autothrottle to work so I busted through the 210kt limit and 10,000 foot restriction unfortunately. And it's not like you can manually adjust the power levels manually much. Oh well I'll have to do some more testing.

See you on Sunday hopefully.
