PMDG MD11

#1 Post by Brian Howard » Thu Jan 08, 2009 9:03 am

I have just installed the PMDG MD11 for FS2004.....Very nice Aircraft....got a "STAB" warning on T/O but it stopped as the speed increased, but I could not find the "Transponder Box" and had to manually decend at TOD.....very nice auto-land as the weather at PANC was not that flash!!! anyone got this Aircraft in either X or 9 who can tell me how to find the Transponder....it did not come with a readme file (I Downladed it direct from PMDG) and I think you have to purchase POH from PMDG
Thanks Brian.

That's great. I have the FSX one.

In the 2D panel if you right click on the Forward / Aft pedestal icon you will see thw aft pedesal. It's on there.

Secondly there is a good tutorial in the documentaion, it's only basic but get you going for a fully automated flight. If you can't find it you can download it from the web site.

The downloadable manuals are exactly the same - you just don't get the big cockpit diagrams.

Brian there has been a fair bit of criticism regarding the readability of the gauges when in VC mode. Are you experiencing the same probs?
Cheers

Thanks Glen.....I may now know how to fly this thing....I have always liked the DC10/MD11 aircraft spent a few hours up in the cockpit once on a ANZ DC10

Steve I have done a few flights in the MD11...and the VC panel is fine on my computer......The flight management is quite differant to the Boeings...but once you you know the flow process its quite easy and its quite nice to fly...even hand flying...Brian

I see PMDG have put a service pack out already for this. Have you got it or did you download the patched version?
Cheers

Steve...Downloaded the package direct from PMDG site a week ago so hopefully I have the latest version...so far I have not encounted any major problems....just self made problems....last nights flight was the best so far, it even tipped over at TD for the first time,so I must have done something right...Brian.
