Installation Problem FSX

#1 Post by Neil Abbott » Thu Sep 02, 2010 4:08 pm

Installation Problem.
PC Pilot Magazine Issue 67 Cover Disk Free Demo Software Captain Sim Boeing 767.

Whenever I try to install this software I get to the "installation location" page and it offers up C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ but when I select this the INSTALL box 'greys out'
If I choose FS2004 as the install target the INSTALL box is not 'greyed out' but the software is for FSX only!
I have verified the location of my FSX Folder via Windows Explorer and by right clicking FSX, going to properties and clicking 'Find Target' and they are all ok.
I have tried another disk sent from UK and it is the same.
I would be grateful for any suggestions please?

24TH SEPT.
DISCOVERED REASON FOR THIS WAS IN REINSTALLING FSX I HAD FORGOTTEN TO INSTALL SP1 AND 2!
INSTALL THEN WORKED OKAY BUT THE AIRCRAFT NOW HAS EVERY OPENING ON IT 'OPEN' ie ALL DOORS, WHEELS DOWN NOSE CONE OPEN, FLAPS ALL DOWN, SPOIILERS UP etc etc AND THERE APPEARS TO BE NO WAY TO CHANGE THIS.
ANY IDEAS PLEASE?
