The VATNZ training team are always in high demand. We are looking for an assistant to the Training Director to help with duties within the training department.
This would be a senior person's role and we are keen to hear from anybody who has the proven abilities described below
The Assistant to the Training Director works with the Director ATC Training to help improve the design of the training process and resources for both student controllers and rated controllers. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to produce quality training, support content to further the development and maintain standards over the training department.
Assists the Director ATC Training with operations of the ATC Training Department (Operations and Projects).
Maintain ATC Training Department Standards
Provide guidance and additional training, where required, to already rated VATNZ controllers.
Assist in the development of the training process department-wide.
Assist in registering controllers for courses and checking in on students as required alongside the Training Director
Assist with allocating training resources to each student as required
Position Holder Attributes:
Be a general member in good standing with VATNZ and VATSIM
Be rated on VATSIM to no less than an Enroute Controller (C1) rating.
Have demonstrated understanding and VATSIM experience in all types of ATC positions
Have demonstrated good knowledge of the VATSIM Code of Conduct, Code of Regulations and Global Rating Policy (GRP)
Be able to work well in a volunteer organisation and understand the expectations of a volunteer staff member.
Ability to work independently and in a team where required.
Ability to organise and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
Have proven ability with the use of Euroscope AND vatSys Controller Clients
Have experience on an ATC Training Team within VATSIM (Preferable)
Understand and support the concepts and principles of competency-based training and assessment
Have experience in teaching, instructing, or consistently helping others to achieve their goals
Have an attitude that will inspire others to teach and to learn, while creating a friendly environment for the learning process to take place
Have proven ability in the management of a small group of people.
